The OWRS Water Shuttle was developed by Port Energy Logistic GmbH, Hamburg. The OWRS Water Shuttle has a rig and sails made of photovoltaic film, primarily using wind and sun/light. If there is not enough energy available, the conventional ship’s propulsion, which is fed by hydrogen, supplements the required demand.
The drinking water produced on the OWRS – Ocean Waste Recycling Ship – is transferred daily at sea to the OWRS Water Shuttle by transshipment, which carries the water to land in an environmentally friendly way.
Another variant is the transfer of drinking water via Mooring Buoys and pipelines to the water storage tanks on land. From the water storage tank farms, the drinking water reaches the local water supply infrastructure.
